Purpose
At One More Bounce, we are on a mission to make tennis and padel more sustainable sports throughout the UK.
Balls do not break down in landfill, so we aim to reduce the environmental impact by providing options to reuse or recycle used tennis and padel balls.
With padel being the fastest growing sport in the UK, there is a huge opportunity to ensure that we have a positive impact.
How can balls be recycled?
The most sustainable outcome for used balls is for reuse. We promote this as our first objective where we can - working with schools, dog homes, kennels and local coaches to ensure that balls have a second life where possible.
Similarly, balls can be re-pressurised. This provides an additional layer in the lifecycle of the balls. We are on a mission to make re-pressurised balls a more common occurrence in the UK market.
Once a ball has completed its lifecycle and is no longer usable, it can be recycled. This involves breaking the ball down into composite rubber and felt, before moulding it into new rubber-based products.
